Tablet with new chipset and high-res multi-touch display is an all-round winner

The 2012 IFA will see a dual premiere as HUAWEI, a world leading provider of information and communications technology (ICT), presents its first 10-inch tablet – which also contains an all-new quad-core chipset with 16x graphics processing unit.

A mere 8.8 mm deep, the HUAWEI MediaPad 10 FHD has a 25.4-cm IPS multi-touch display with phenomenal full HD resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels for premium-class entertainment. It's powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1 GB RAM and 16x GPU to delight fans of high-definition video clips and widescreen 3D gaming. Built-in stereo speakers with Dolby® SurroundSound deliver the accompanying soundtrack.

“For most users tablet PCs are a way of viewing multimedia content, reading e-books, gaming or surfing”, explains Lars-Christian Weisswange, Vice President Device Western Europe at HUAWEI Technologies. “The MediaPad 10 FHD now combines all the functions necessary for these uses – and quite a bit more – in a compact aluminium unibody with dimensions of 257 × 176 × 8.8 mm, weighing only 598 grams.“

The 8 GB ROM in the Android™ 4.0-based device offer plenty of room for apps from the Google Play™-Store, music, HD videos and high-end 3D games. If required the memory can be increased to up to 32GB with the addition of microSD™ cards.

The HUAWEI MediaPad 10 FHD provides high-speed wireless access of up to 300 Mbps (WiFi b/g/n). For never-ending surfing pleasure, HUAWEI included a 6,600 mAh battery guaranteeing over 8 hours of mobile entertainment. The tablet has a 1.3-megapixel front camera for video telephony, while an 8-megapixel autofocus camera on the back captures those unforgettable moments.

HUAWEI has ensured the MediaPad 10 FHD is ready for anything by launching a range of matching accessories. The Smart Folio case, available in an array of colours, protects the tablet from everyday wear and tear, while the special 30-pin adapter allows a variety of peripherals such as a keyboard to be connected and instantly transforms the MediaPad 10 FHD into an ultra-slim notebook.

The HUAWEI MediaPad 10 FHD is available in Germany from October 2012 in Silver finish at a recommended retail price of EUR 429,-- (without contract).
